She has received several awards and has been associate editor of the journals “Avances en Diabetología and Endocrinología y Nutrición”, the journal of the Spanish Society of Diabetes and the Spanish Society of Endocrinology and Nutrition. Her main areas of interest are: preclinical atherosclerosis and cardiovascular risk in type 1 diabetes; hypoglycaemia and its consequences in type 1 diabetes; continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion systems in isolation and combined with continuous real-time glucose monitoring, artificial intelligence applied to diabetes and control algorithms in the development of artificial pancreas systems in diabetes. To date she has published over 100 original papers, as well as review articles, book chapters and editorials. She is an associate professor at the University of Barcelona and subject coordinator of the master's degree “Bases for the care and education of people with diabetes”.
